Within the framework of National Rapid HIV Testing Daywhich is celebrated on June 27, the Municipality of Palpalain collaboration with the Wenceslao Gallardo Hospital, the Ministry of Health of the Province and the Civil Association for Health Promotion, They invite you to a day of prevention and testing at the health post in the Carolina neighborhood of the steel city.

Ariel Soruco, head of Ce.PAT 33, explained that “the day is intended for all people interested in learning and raising awareness about HIV and other sexually transmitted infections.” The main objective is to raise awareness among the population about the importance of early detection of HIV, to initiate timely treatments and reduce the transmission of the virus. For this reason, all attendees will have access to rapid tests, which are free, confidential and allow results to be obtained in a few minutes.

Activities to raise awareness

The day will begin at 8 in the morning with counseling and rapid testing for HIV and syphilis. At 8:30, Dr. Raúl Román will offer an informative workshop on HIV and other sexually transmitted diseases (STDs), aimed at those present at the health post.

Starting at 9 in the morning, the placement of subdermal implants will begin for adolescents who have already scheduled their appointment.

The activities are intended for the general public who want to learn more about HIV and STDs.and will be carried out with the support of an inter-institutional team committed to these health problems.

Additionally, the Municipality of Palpalá, through the Directorate of Parity and Gender, offers counseling and care on issues related to sexually transmitted diseases, and providing contraceptives. The invitation is to parents and especially to teenagers, and throughout the year they can come to the health post in the Carolina neighborhood on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m., and on Wednesdays from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m., where the comprehensive adolescent care clinic operates by Ms. Claudia Albornoz.

Finally, the community is reminded that The rapid HIV test is voluntary, free and confidentialand that throughout the day, the AHG Foundation and the Gallardo Hospital laboratory staff will be in charge of carrying them out.
