In an important joint session held by the municipal councils of Pasto and Popayán, the Departmental Assembly of Nariño was present with the notable participation of its president Rosita Guevara and deputy Guillermo Díaz. The central topic of the meeting was to address the problems caused by the blockades on the Pan-American Highway and discuss the construction of the dual carriageway that will connect Pasto with Popayán.

The session was attended by the Vice Minister of Transportation, Eduardo Enríquez Caicedo, as well as various officials from relevant entities. The department’s Secretary of Finance, Vicente Menza, the delegation of the Popayán council led by its president Rosa Agustina Sinisterra, and members of the community also attended.

During the meeting, the need for the union of all levels was highlighted, with the support of the congressmen of Nariño and Cauca, the municipal councils, the Departmental Assemblies and the community in general. This support is considered essential to manage and advance the construction of the dual carriageway that will connect Pasto with Popayán and Pasto with Catambuco.
