Ensenada.- The armed attack against a group of Razers vehicle racers, which left ten people dead and nine injured, was directed at a drug trafficker nicknamed “El Trébol”, who resided between Sinaloa and Baja California, but was investigated for trafficking of drugs to the United States, according to information obtained by NORTH POINT.
Other victims belong to the Razers club “Los Exóticos”, based in Tijuana, among which there is a woman.
The victims participated in the “El Cachanillazo Ensenada” ride, which began yesterday, Friday, May 19, and consists of a tour to the south of Ensenada in Razers vehicles.
Around 2:00 p.m., the participants made a stop at kilometer 90 of the Ensenada Transpeninsular Highway, near the community of San Vicente, at a gas station and an Oxxo convenience store.
While dozens of all-terrain vehicles and their occupants were detained on the road, the occupants of a recent model gray van came up to the van and opened fire on “El Trébol” and members of the “Exóticos” club.
Hooded men dressed in black got out of the vehicle and began to open fire on some of the light vehicles, while the participants of the ride, which was celebrating its fifth edition, ran for cover.
The same happened with the employees of various food stalls and premises in front of which the vehicles were parked.
Emergency forces responded to the events and managed to transfer nine of the victims with gunshot wounds, but nine men and one woman were declared dead.
Some of the victims were left with their helmets on inside the vehicles, while others were left on the dirt road.
The State Attorney General, Ricardo Iván Carpio Sánchez, immediately sent elements of the State Attorney General’s Office, in coordination with the Sedena, the Secretary of the Navy (Semar), the State Citizen Security Force (FESC) and the Municipal Police of Ensenada, to attend to the report.
The prosecutor added that, in addition, a special investigation group moved to San Vicente, with the aim of reinforcing the tasks of the various corporations in the area in locating and arresting those responsible for the attack.
Finally, he indicated that the FGE will report in a timely manner on the progress of the investigations and the process to achieve justice in the case.
For his part, the mayor of Ensenada, Armando Ayala Robles, regretted the attack perpetrated.
“I am in permanent communication with the State Attorney General’s Office, as well as with the federal corporations of the three levels of government to provide all the necessary information. Likewise, surveillance was increased in the delegations of the southern area of the municipality and the operations to locate those responsible for the attack remain active, ”he said.
The mayor recognized the support of the State Attorney General, Ricardo Iván Carpio Sánchez, who commissioned a special investigation group to address this fact.
The Clover
Alonso Arámbula Piña, 36 years old, is among the ten fatalities of the armed attack. Known by the nickname “El Trébol”, it is known that he was being investigated for the transfer of drugs from Mexico to the United States.
The young fan of all-terrain vehicles showed his life practicing this sport on his social networks and there are several videos where he is seen with several men, also in all-terrain vehicles, waiting for planes to land in the middle of mountains and sierras.
In none of his videos or photos, “El Trébol”, who wore the number 15 both on some of his sportswear and on his Can-amX3 vehicle, shows his face, since he always has his racing helmet on.
Exactly three years ago, in May 2020, Alonso Arámbula Piña’s brother, Joel Alejandro Arámbula Piña, was executed on Eighth Street, between Alvarado and Blancarte, in Ensenada.
According to newspaper reports that reported the murder, the hitmen used a motorcycle to shoot at the 36-year-old and fled on it.
Almost a year later, in February 2021, the State Attorney General’s Office (FGE) arrested José Eduardo “El Osuna”, a hitman associated with the Sinaloa Cartel, who was linked to the process for the murder of an FGE agent, who was shot in the operation deployed to capture him.
Among the homicides for which “El Osuna” is being investigated, is precisely that of Alonso Arámbula Piña, brother of “El Trébol”, who practiced the profession of lawyer.
