The unions of the Ministry of Labor filed a complaint with the International Labor Organization against Minister Gloria Inés Ramírez, pointing out that Ramírez has committed alleged acts that threaten freedom of association in Colombia.
The strike committee indicated in a letter submitted to the ILO that “it has listed some of the work activities duly identified as acts violating the right to freedom of association and to strike.”
The workers point out that on several occasions, more than three, they have insisted that agreements be reached within the ministry.

One day before, the Ministry of Labor informed all public servants and union organizations of the entity that after holding several technical tables with entities such as the Administrative Department of the Public Service and the Ministry of Finance, the granting was approved. of the special compensation bonus established in the 2023-2025 union agreement.
According to the minister, “this demonstrates once again the political will of the Government and in particular of the Minister, who once again invites the union organizations to the permanent dialogue table“, said.
Furthermore, the ministry reaffirmed that union actions have full guarantees, and “motivate an approach that allows continuing the route of social dialogue proposed as an example of resolution of labor conflicts in the country,” it added.
The reasons for the strike at the Ministry of Labor
According to the Minister, it is important to continue with all the efforts that are necessary to move forward with the permanent social dialogue table.
“This table is open and all the union organizations that have signed the agreement are invited and we will continue to do all the administrative steps that are necessary to ensure that this is fulfilled and we still have almost a year to advance the agreements signed for the 2023 validity period. 2025, which we are expediting,” said Ramírez.
