He National Institute of Statistics (INE) realized that he Transportation Cost Index (ICT) presented a zero monthly variation to one digit in May 2024. In this way, there is an accumulated fluctuation of 1.2% in the fifth month of the year.
It is worth remembering that the ICT for April established a monthly increase of 0.9%, which was mainly explained by the increase in fuel group (2%).
The opposite occurred in May, since the same segment presented a decrease of -1.9%, which had an impact of -0.520 percentage points (pp.) on the monthly variation of the general ICT. What was discussed occurred as a result of the contraction of the diesel product (-1.9%).
While, Financial services registered a monthly variation of -0.7%, with an incidence of -0.044 pp. What was obtained was a consequence of the drop in the credit product (-5%), with -0.033 pp.
For its part, Service related to transport circulation recorded a monthly null to one decimal place, with an incidence of 0.003 pp. In this group, the increase in the circulation permit product stood out (0.6%), which contributed 0.003 pp.
Spare parts and accessories for the operation and maintenance of the vehicle presented a monthly variation of 0.2%, with an incidence of 0.021 pp. The result was influenced by the pneumatic product (0.7%), battery (1.5%) and air filter (0.9%), jointly contributing 0.031 pp.
Vehicle maintenance and repair services recorded a monthly variation of 0.9%, with an incidence of 0.048 pp. Here, the change of engine oil and oil filter (1.2%) and truck alignment (0.9%) stood out, contributing together with 0.031 pp.
Human Resources established a monthly variation of 1.2%, with an incidence of 0.515 pp. Among the products that make up this group, the influence of the labor product stood out (1.2%).
