Cajacopi EPS leaves 91 municipalities in Colombia, six are in Magdalena

In the midst of the massive withdrawal of the EPS in Colombia, one more requested its voluntary withdrawal: Cajacopi EPS.

This was confirmed through a formal request submitted to the Health Superintendency, in which, as mentioned by the allied portal Zona Cero, it presented “a request for voluntary retirement in 91 municipalities.”

The request is supported by a so-called “evaluation of capabilities and resources” that, combined with the health crisis, and the doubts raised in the reform proposed by the Government, lead to the need to “focus the operation in areas where there is a greater response capacity and guarantee more effective and timely care.”

In this way, in the request submitted to Supersalud, it is requested to begin the transfer of the 4,681 affiliates to other health-providing entities.

It is important to mention that although Cundinamarca and Bolívar are the departments where Cajacopi had the most coverage, there are six municipalities in Magdalena that will be affected with the departure of the EPS. These are Tenerife, Concordia, Cerro de San Antonio, Pijiño del Carmen, Salamina and Zapayán.
