He Government of Chubutthrough the Provincial Fire Management Service (SPMF), llaunched an operation to control a forest fire that broke out on the afternoon of last Monday, October 28, 2024 in the locality area from Rio Pico, more specifically, in the mountain area of the department of Tehuelchesand, Until this morning, Wednesday the 30th, it has already destroyed more than 45 hectares of vegetationincluding areas of shrubs, bushes, grasslands and native forests.
As reported by the SPMF, The fire originated in three different sources and simultaneous ones that later, favored by the action of the wind, joined into one, while the team of professionals that is working against the clock to try to extinguish the active fireproof lights includes personnel from the SPMF bases in Río Pico and Corcovadoin addition to a support team that manages radio communications, logistics and technical management. In addition, the operation has the support of the Provincial Road Administration.

Regarding material resources, The SPMF mobilized 3 trucks and a pumperessential to attack the fire at different points, while for today afternoon it is expected that they will join brigade members from the bases of Río Senguer, Lago Rosario and Trevelin, as well as a bulldozer.
