SEVILLA, 31 (EUROPA PRESS)
The spokesperson for the Con Podemos-IU group, Susana Hornillo, denounced this Thursday the “situation of abandonment” suffered by the families affected by the fire declared in the early hours of October 17 in an underground parking lot on Parque de Doñana street in Seville. As a result of this event, the 64 affected homes lack electricity and running water, making them uninhabitable properties for their occupants.
In this sense, the Podemos councilor has called on the municipal government for an “urgent plan” to relocate all those families who do not have the financial resources to afford temporary accommodation while the rehabilitation works of the building are carried out, which, today, They haven’t even started, as the training stated in a press release.
Likewise, Hornillo explained that families are experiencing “limited” situations these days since many of them lack family support networks that provide them with temporary housing solutions or lack the resources to pay the cost of a hotel or boarding house. , so “they have to remain in their apartments affected by the fire in unsanitary conditions, eating daily in the surrounding bars, charging the batteries of their electronic devices at the neighborhood pharmacy and asking for favors to use the bathroom or shower “.
In this sense, the leader has called on the Area of Preferred Neighborhoods and Social Rights to “implement an urgent social intervention device” to evaluate each of the cases in detail and make all the resources of the public real estate stock available to them. , also requesting the collaboration of the Government of the autonomous community.
Finally, Hornillo regretted that the Government of the Popular Party “has let 15 days pass without contacting the affected families to find out their needs”, a time in which “they have had to make a living without the support of the administration who must be at the side of his neighbors when they need him most.
