The bill reforming the retirement mobility formula began to be discussed this Wednesday in the Senate in a plenary meeting of the Labor and Social Security and Budget and Finance committees.

However, an agreement was not reached, and legislators will have to meet again and add to the discussion the changes made by senators Edith Terenzi (Cambio Federal) and Edgardo Kueider (Unidad Federal).

The opposition wanted to move forward with the debate on the initiative that proposes a new system of updating retirement benefits and that was rejected by Javier Milei. If a ruling was reached that ratifies the half-sanction of the Deputies, it would be voted on in the chamber.

However, the opposition failed to reach an agreement and the next step is to summon ANSES officials to explain the financial situation of the sector.

The Union for the Fatherland bloc, headed by José Mayans, is confident that the proposal would have a difference in favor of its sanction in the Senate. For now, as there is no opinion, the debate continues.
