Tampa Bay Fourth of July Forecast: Some showers expected

Tampa, FL. (WFLA/Tampa Hoy) – We’ll have fewer storms for the 4th of July, with the chance of rain still at 40% in the afternoon/evening. If you hear thunder, head inside to stay safe. Otherwise, expect a hot day with highs around 90 degrees, but wind chills in the triple digits.

Scattered thunderstorms are expected in the afternoon on Friday and also through the weekend. Each day starts dry and storms increase later in the day.

Keeping an eye on the Tropics:

Hurricane Beryl passed over Jamaica as a major hurricane. It will then continue to weaken as it approaches the Yucatan Peninsula. There is a chance the system could make landfall in the United States in southern Texas, but that is still several days away.
