On the afternoon of this July 3rd, residents of EcatepecMexico state (Edomex) were surprised by a heavy rain that caused floods on several streets.

According to the road report of the State of Mexico Security Secretariat, among the most affected roads wereI go to National Avenue and Valentin Flores, colonia Saint Mary Chiconautla.

Traffic on Ignacio Zaragoza and Tero Avenue in the Rinconada de Aragón neighborhood was also complicated by flooding.

In the State of Mexico, street flooding must be reported to the following entities:

  • Civil Protection of the State of Mexico: Through the emergency telephone number 911 or the direct number 722-215-7463.
  • Control, Command, Communication, Computing and Quality Center (C5): By telephone at 089 for emergency attention and reports.
  • Municipio Local: Directly contacting the authorities of the municipality where the flood occurs, either by telephone or through their digital platforms and social networks.

It is important to provide accurate details of the location and extent of the problem when making the report.

The National Meteorological Service (SMN) reported that showers and occasional heavy rains will prevail in the coming hours, as well as strong gusts of wind in entities in the center of the country, including Mexico City, the State of Mexico and some highway sections.

The areas of the State of Mexico where rain is expected are Ecatepec, Tejupilco, Valle de Bravo, Toluca, Lerma, Ixtapan de la Sal, Atlacomulco, Cuautitlán Izcalli, Naucalpan, Tlalnepantla, Tultitlán, Zumpango, Texcoco, Nezahualcóyotl, Chimalhuacán and Amecameca.
