MIGRANT MINORS

July 3, 2024 (11:12 a.m.)

The Moroccan National Council for Human Rights reports “repetitive” practices of detention and internal deportation of irregular migrants and denounces that migrants and refugees continue to experience difficulties in renewing their residence documents and accessing justice in Morocco. In its annual report, it explains that in 2023, Morocco welcomed 19,666 new foreigners from more than 50 countries. It refers to operations to arrest migrants, including minors, and transfer them to regions of the country far from the areas where they gather to try to access Europe irregularly by land or sea.
