Police advance commanders’ summit, expect to set course of action against crimes that impact citizens the most

On the morning of this Wednesday, July 3, at around 7:30 a.m., a summit began to take place with the presence of all the commanders of the National Policedenominated Frontal Offensive Against Crime.

The meeting was installed by the Minister of Defense, Iván Velásquez, and the director of the institution, the General William Rene Salamanca Ramirezthey also have a seat tax inspector Luz Adriana CamargoAttorney General Margarita Cabello and a delegate comptroller.

According to police sources consulted by EL TIEMPO, the meeting’s main objective was to outline the roadmap against crimes that affect security such as extortion, homicideforced recruitment of children and adolescents, cybercrime, irregular migrant trafficking, drug trafficking and local drug trafficking.

There was also talk of smugglinginsecurity on road axes, impact on tourists, expansion of international cooperation and greater forcefulness against crimes that destroy our natural capital, among others.

Similarly, there was a special chapter to develop the strategy on the Security plan for COP-16to be held with world-class experts and authorities in Cali, Valle del Cauca, in the coming months.
