Like every September, the Street Culture Festival arrives in RivasThis year, two projects have been proposed in which the protagonists are the neighbors.

Citizens become artistic creators. The first proposal is ‘How you eat it!’a photographic and audiovisual exhibition accompanied by the artist Álvaro Valls.

On the other hand, the second proposal of the Festival of Culture in the Streets is the representation of theThe Rivas residents of the dance show ‘Halab’‘This is a project by the contemporary dance company Sol Picó.

The performance of ‘Halab’ will take place on September 21 at 7:30 p.m. Anyone interested in participating can register on the municipal registration website until September 12.

There are 20 places available. The rehearsals will be the September 18, 19 and 20 for three hours daily in the afternoons. The piece will be accompanied by live music by Pere Jou and will be choreographed by the Sol Picó company.

‘Halab’ is a piece in homage to the people who have died in the waters of the Mediterranean while trying to reach the European coasts. The name of the work comes from the ancient name of the city of Aleppo in Syria.

“It aims to give visibility to this unbearable injustice, to raise awareness of what happens every day in the Mediterranean and to give a voice to those who do not have one. Because, pUnfortunately, the constant drip of these news on our televisions makes us insensitive to this pain, with consciences that are increasingly impermeable, more accustomed to death, more asleep.“, explains the Sol Picó company.
