The court rescheduled its verdict on criminal liability, which was to be announced today, for next Monday, July 8, at 9 a.m.

The decision will be made in the courts of the Roca neighborhood.

The investigation was initiated as a result of the storm known as “extra-tropical cyclone” that hit our city between March 29 and April 9, 2017, in which, according to the National Meteorological Service, almost 400 mm of water fell, causing disastrous consequences in different areas of the city, flooding streets and homes.

On April 5, 2017, the local Deliberative Council declared an economic, social and administrative emergency and released the local Executive Branch to comply with the Municipal Contracts Ordinance. Thus, in order to remove the mud resulting from the storm, 197 companies, machine hours and road machinery were contracted by the Municipality. Daily and forged reports were prepared, which were authorized for payment by officials Boyero and Palomeque.

The defendants include: Cristian Hernán Lobos Rozas, Joaquín Mansilla, Abel Boyero and Rubén Palomeque (the latter two were public officials at the time of the events); Javier Morales, Julian Astiz, Roberto Monasterolo, the brothers Cristian and Gonzalo Pérez, Alejandro Herk, Marcelo Van Heerden, Rubén Sartori and Juan Carlos Lara.
