Aemet extends the orange warning for heat in Córdoba for one more day

The State Meteorological Agency (Aemet) has just activated the orange warning for high temperatures in the region of Campiña cordobesa, which includes the capital and the Guadalquivir Valley, for this Friday, prolonging the heat episode for one more day. In addition, for this Friday the northern area will also be on yellow warning for high temperatures, as detailed by the agency on its website.

This warning joins the one issued on Thursday, also orange in the Guadalquivir Valley and Campiña, and yellow in the rest of the province. The orange indicates that maximum temperatures of 42 ºC could be reached.

For its part, the Ministry of Health has activated the yellow level of risk for high temperatures for the Campiña and Subbética during the day on Thursday, as detailed in the map that is updated daily and which recommends that the population not expose themselves to outdoor activities to avoid heat stroke.

On Wednesday, temperatures reached 41ºC in Montoro and 40ºC in the capital of Córdoba. These records are likely to be surpassed on Thursday. They will drop slightly on Friday, although highs of at least 40ºC are expected in the Campiña and the Guadalquivir Valley. The highs will be 38ºC in the northern part of the province.
