At the daily press conference chaired by Andrés Manuel López Obrador, officials from CFE Telecomunicaciones and Internet para Todos highlighted the significant progress in the expansion of cell phone and internet coverage in Mexico. According to official figures presented today, The service currently reaches 95.3% of the populationbenefiting more than 120 million people.

Carlos Emiliano Calderón Mercado, coordinator of the National Digital Strategy, together with David Pantoja Meléndez, general director of CFE Telecomunicaciones and Internet for All, and Carlos Lerma Cotera, general director of Altán Redes, reported that coverage of 96.4% is projected to be achieved by the end of 2024.

The program has 98,960 free internet access points, serving 27 million users monthly. In addition, the “Internet for Wellbeing” program has benefited more than 430,000 people to date.

During the López Obrador administration, a significant investment of more than 21 billion pesos in this area.
