The Civil Guard, In collaboration with agents of the National Republican Guard and the Portuguese Tax and Customs Authority, he has participated in an operation led by the European Prosecutor’s Office to dismantle a network of companies that committed tax fraud amounting to 33 million euros.

During the development of this coordinated action 206 registrations have been made in Portugal, 13 in our country and one in France, with the result of 11 arrests and the seizure of 43 vehicles and 120,000 euros in Portuguese territory. A large amount of documentation, both in physical and electronic format, related to the illegal activity of the companies involved has also been seized.

The actions carried out in Spain have been led by the European Public Prosecutor Delegate of Madrid, with the Central Court of Instruction number 1 of the National Court acting as the Judge of Guarantees. They have been coordinated by the Technical Unit of the Judicial Police of the Civil Guard, with the Organic Units of the Judicial Police of Madrid, Ourense, Valladolid, Salamanca, Ciudad Real, Huelva, Seville, Tarragona, Pontevedra and Barcelona.

The investigation has been declared secret, The investigation remains open to this day, although the possibility of investigating more people in the affected countries is not ruled out, the Civil Guard reported in a statement.

In 2022, the Portuguese authorities began this action against this network involved in intra-community VAT fraud in commercial operations, being investigated for criminal organization and money laundering. During the days of July 2 and 3 of this week, the Civil Guard has collaborated in a fiscal assistance from the delegation of the European Prosecutor’s Office in Portugal.
