A clandestine sausage factory was raided in the southwest area of the city – El Día de Gualeguaychú

Personnel from the Provincial Directorate of Natural Resources and Inspection together with the Rural Crime Prevention Brigade of Gualeguaychú carried out a raid in a house located on Rebori Street in the city. There they found the existence of more than half a ton of sausages, including fresh salami and chorizos made at home without any type of sanitary control, nor any authorization for the manufacture of such products.

In addition, machinery used for this purpose was seized, as well as a total of 200 kilos of meat cuts from wild animals, broken down into axis deer and wild boar, meat that was used as raw material for the production of sausages.

The procedure originated in the framework of an investigation into the safeguarding and protection of the public health of the city’s population, since the meat used for manufacturing is acquired through poaching, which is a frequent source of contamination, unknown method and place of slaughter, health of the slaughtered animals and lack of bromatological control at the time of production, with the raided home being a place lacking hygiene and regulatory conditions that make it unsuitable for making and marketing sausages.

The meat cuts and processed meats were taken out of circulation so that they could no longer be sold to society, proceeding to the confiscation and subsequently their denaturing in the presence of witnesses, as they were considered by the acting physician as unfit for human consumption.
