A free blues and jazz festival will take place in A Guarda (Pontevedra) this July

The Guard (Pontevedra) Every summer since 2021, it has become a reference point for lovers of blues and jazz thanks to the celebration of the Mar de Blues festival. The event attracts artists from different places in the world to the municipality, both inside and outside Galicia, to perform enjoy the public with live music.

The festival will return to the town this year on July 19 (Friday) and 20 (Saturday) and will take place in Praza do RelóIn case of rain, it is planned to move it to the Casa dos Alonso, thus ensuring its celebration. Admission is free and will feature various concerts, which will start Friday at 9:30 p.m. by the Galician David LH and then, the Minnemann Blues Band will play, a German-Portuguese mix that leads the blues scene in the Portuguese country.

On Saturday 20th, the event will begin in the morning, with a Vermouth session at 12:30 hours alleviated by The Blues Moonshiners & friendsa trio composed of Jay Doe on guitar and vocals, Figui on harmonicas and Fran Trilli on percussion.

The same group will open the evening session of the festival from 9:30 p.m. onwards, to then give way to Dorrey Lin Lyles, an American singer who will take the stage together with the Marcos Coll Band, mixing jazz, gospel and blues and soul in a concert that promises to be very exciting. Afterwards, The artist Sergio Laranjo, known as Little Orange, will close the Sea of ​​Blues.

The event is sponsored by the Provincial Council of Pontevedra and Cervezas Alhambra. In previous editions, they passed through A Guarda artistas como Peter Storm & The Blues Society, Julian Maeso o Tommy Castro & The Painkillers, among others.
