Canadian pop star Justin Bieber gave a private concert in India as part of the pre-wedding celebrations for one of the sons of Asia’s richest man, Mukesh Ambani.

Several images from his concert on Friday night posted on social media show the singer performing his 2015 hit “Sorry” in front of several Indian celebrities.

Bieber, who shot to fame as a teenager, is the latest in a long line of celebrities to travel to India as part of lavish wedding celebrations for Ambani’s youngest son Anant and his fiancée Radhika Merchant.

Anant, the son of the chairman of the Reliance Industries conglomerate, is getting married on July 12 in a three-day Hindu celebration.

According to local media, Bieber earned around $10 million for his performance.

Ambani-Merchant’s pre-wedding celebrations included a three-day gala in February in the state of Gujarat, featuring a Rihanna concert attended by Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg and former US President Donald Trump’s daughter Ivanka.

In 2018, Mukesh Ambani organised the most expensive wedding in Indian history when he spent $100 million on his daughter’s wedding, a feast that included the participation of American singer Beyoncé.

Ambani, 67, has a fortune valued at $113 billion and is the 11th richest person in the world, according to the Forbes list.
