Approval of the penal code is an eyesore – Primicias Newspaper

Santo Domingo – Jesús Díaz, former vice-presidential candidate of the Frente Amplio, said that the approval of the bill for the new Penal Code is an abomination that violates fundamental rights.

Diaz questioned that this project is a tailor-made suit for the ruling political class and that it is unconstitutional and can be classified as a real “nonsense.”

”How is it possible that these so-called legislators approve that the conviction for a rape reach up to 20 years of prisonbut the same piece reduces the sentence to 10 years in prison if the assault occurs in a Relationship“That is accommodating to the banditry that seeks to favor men to the detriment of women,” said Díaz.

For the former FA candidate, the approved project strengthens conservatism to the detriment of the vast majority and shows the country what kind of legislators we have.

He described it as a disgrace that the Senate of the Republic had approved a bill without reading it and that in its Article 14 it exempts churches from criminal liability for acts of rape or pedophilia.
