The incident occurred at approximately 7:30 a.m. near 10 de Agosto Street and Quito Avenue.

The images show a white vehicle arriving at this point in the city centre and immediately four men getting out. Two of them with weapons in their hands.

The subjects enter a store in that area and, by force, take the manager.

The video shows the struggle between the victim and his kidnappers.

Before being put into the vehicle, the man tried to defend himself, but the men beat him until they finally took him away. After learning of the incident, units of the National Police arrived at the scene.

The area is quite commercial, as there are at least a dozen stores selling natural products, clothing and various items.

On Saturday morning, passers-by and shop assistants were left in a state of uncertainty over the incident.

A merchant asked for more foot patrols by the police and for an investigation into the motive behind the kidnapping. (I)
