Anonymous Shiba Inu leader makes public appearance at event in Japan

In a rare public appearance, the leader of the popular meme coin project Shiba Inu has appeared at an event in Japan. The anonymous developer, known by the pseudonym Shytoshi Kusama, appeared at the Infinite Venture Summit event in Kyoto. There he met with politicians and members of the country’s SHIB Army.

During the public events in which he participated, the developer covered his face with a mask to protect his identity. Days before, Kusama announced on social media his trip to Japan. At that time, he stressed that he was attracted to anime culture. Thus, the trip to that country became a dream come true for him.

In any case, the expert’s presence in Japan focused on the debate of the necessary transition from Web2 to Web3. The developer met with Kazuichi Kumagai, member of the Miyagi Prefecture Assembly of Japan. This is part of his strategy to reach out to the minds most prepared for the changes that the country requires.

Some members of the Shiba community shared images of Kusama wearing her mask on social media. Kumagai also spoke out on social media about the developer’s visit, highlighting her intention to use Web3 for development, especially in rural areas.

Shiba Inu is emerging as a game-changer in Web3

It is important to note that Shiba Inu is not just a memecoin, but is currently focused on a number of Web3 projects. These projects aim to strengthen the community and the financial aspect of people through decentralization. Thus, the epicenter of the developments is the protection of privacy through the blockchain.

In that sense, the project has a remarkably ambitious roadmap. Among the developments in the pipeline is the proposal to create a decentralized digital identity system called Shibdentity. The latter could be a serious rival to Sam Altman’s popular Worldcoin.

Kusama also took advantage of her participation at IVS 2024 to meet with enthusiasts from the Shiba community in Japan. During a meet-and-greet session, the developer answered questions and concerns from community members.

Using the WeCreate3 account, a student community in Japan shared images featuring Kusama and announced plans to collaborate with Shiba Inu in the future. This unusual appearance by Kusama at an event is particularly intriguing for the project. Unsurprisingly, much of the community welcomed this public appearance, though some criticized it.
