The regional validation tables are an instrument that is currently being implemented throughout the country in different regions with the sole objective of collecting information about instructional material for the Colombia program project.

The Validation Table of pedagogical guides for the development of computational thinking was held this time in the GHL Hotel in the city of Montería, Córdoba. It was attended by more than 35 teachers from primary and secondary school levels.

The agenda for July 5, 2024 was as follows:

What is being done at these tables is to validate with educators, in didactic pedagogical material that is to be implemented in component two of the Project Programswhere the beneficiaries are the teachers y students. At the table developed in Monteria, the teaching contexts and the guides were worked on, it is expected to consolidate a Resource Bankwhich is being formed through the project in Colombia.

Regarding the pedagogical guides, the idea is that educators do a little exploration of what has been worked on by the technical team and a network of teachers that is being promoted for the project that has to do with the topic of computational thinking.

At this meeting in the city of Montería, groups of 6 and one of 7 were formed, and the following were discussed:

  • Using offline activities
  • Teacher networks
  • Training on digital citizenship topics
  • Training / updating
  • Use of technological tools.

The idea is that in these validation tables the teachers give us their appreciations, observations and considerations about the material, so that we, based on those comments and the collection of information, can perfect the material so that it is delivered as a final instrument, of the best quality for the teachers.”. How many educational institutions will benefit from this material throughout the country?

According to Aguirre, there are approximately 420 educational institutions, but it is expected that the material will be replicated for other institutions throughout the country. Currently, component 1, which is the validation component, has called upon 1,750 teachers nationwide, who are helping to carry out the validation.

There are approximately 35 regional months throughout the country, each table, let’s say, is subdivided into a group, let’s say there are 5 groups, at this moment we are already in the second group, each group is let’s say from each grade, so we have already started with transition, first and second, at this moment we are with the third, fourth and fifth grade, corresponding to grade 3 will be sixth and seventh, grade 4 eighth ninth and finally the last one, group 5 will be tenth and eleventh.William

Component 3 benefits rural areas, educational institutions located in rural areas that are difficult to access. For these rural educational institutions, there is a specific and distinct component.

At the end of the event, the teachers who participate in the regional validation tables fill out a form where they leave their information so that they receive the actual reports of each of the tables and, additionally, their certificate of attendance.
