Spotify is one of the most popular platforms in Spain for streaming music. The company is actively competing with other services such as Apple Music, Tidal, Amazon Music and Youtube Music, continuously launching new features to attract users.

In both the free ad-supported version and the paid plans, there is one feature that is rarely used by users: shuffle mode. This mode improves the Spotify Premium experience by recommending songs based on previous listens more accurately.

On its website, Spotify explains that shuffle mode “mixes recommendations tailored to the rhythm of your session to avoid monotony.” This option can be activated for any playlist or artist, recommending similar songs.

To activate Spotify’s smart shuffle mode, you need to go to the “Now Playing” icon at the bottom of the screen while listening to a song or playlist. On tablets or the desktop version, you need to select the album cover from the side menu.

Then, find the shuffle icon and press it twice: once to activate the traditional shuffle mode with songs from the same artist or from the playlist, and twice to switch to the smart shuffle mode. From the “Now Playing” icon, you can see the songs selected by Spotify, change their order or delete some of them.

This trick allows you to discover new songs in a similar way to Spotify Radio, thus creating custom playlists based on a specific song or artist. To use this feature, you need to select the three dots next to a song and choose “Go to song/artist radio.”
