The Mossos d’Esquadra have dismantled a criminal group of thieves specialising in stealing copper from electrical wiring in industrial estates in the metropolitan area of ​​Barcelona. Investigators arrested three men on the morning of 29 May when they had just robbed a company in Sant Cugat del Vallès. According to the Mossos, the group is linked to around fifteen robberies since February. The perpetrators broke open earth manholes and stole copper wiring. In other cases, they broke open electricity meters to cut the wiring and take it. As a result, the industrial warehouses in the estates where they robbed suffered power cuts.
