After swearing in Dr. María Antonieta Monserrat Vera Muñoz to assume a second term as director of the Faculty of Accounting, Rector Lilia Cedillo Ramírez said that the achievements of this academic unit are numerous thanks to the professional commitment they maintain, the collaborative work and the harmonious environment they live in.

At the same ceremony, in which the second work report was held and subsequently Dr. Vera Muñoz was sworn in as director of the Faculty of Accounting for the period 2024-2028, Rector Lilia Cedillo Ramírez recognized her leadership and ability to mediate and meet the needs of the different sectors that make up this community.

“As head of the Rectorate, I realize the value of the work of accountants, because they provide certainty and security that financial aspects are being properly fulfilled. These qualities of responsibility, ethics and care are inherent to this profession, and that is what they transmit to young people.”

Regarding the actions carried out, Dr. Monserrat Vera Muñoz reported that this academic unit offers seven educational programs, four at the undergraduate level and three at the graduate level, which represents attention to 4,918 students. She reported the update of study plans and programs for three in-person undergraduate degrees.

In terms of training, he pointed out that collaboration agreements were expanded with institutions such as the Complutense University of Madrid or the Association of Banks of Mexico, which provided courses and diplomas for the teaching staff. He highlighted that 87 percent of its academic staff has a postgraduate degree, seven are members of the National System of Researchers, and together they make up nine academic bodies.

Among the achievements obtained, the director highlighted the increase in enrollment in two of its postgraduate programs and proposed as a future objective the increase in the educational offer at the master’s level in the virtual modality, as well as the realization of master’s classes on topics that strengthen the training of students in the semi-school system.
