Three arrested for kidnapping and possession of weapons in Edomex; they could belong to a criminal group from Jalisco

Upon approaching, the operational personnel found two people inside the van with their eyes covered. The victims identified themselves and were subsequently treated by paramedics from the municipality’s Civil Protection.

Inside the truck, state police located a long weapon, a Smith & Wesson brand, caliber 5.56 millimeters, and a short weapon, caliber 9 millimeters, brand Glock, which were seized, according to SSEM spokesmen.

At the scene, state officials said they arrested Jesús, 22 years old; later, following up on this operation and on the same road, José, 26 years old, and a minor were arrested, apparently related to these crimes.

They were carrying nine long weapons and one short weapon, all for the exclusive use of the Army, six bulletproof vests, several useful cartridges, firearm magazines, two vehicles and three motorcycles.

The three people were placed at the disposal of the Attorney General’s Office (FGR) based in the municipality of Toluca, where their legal situation will be determined.

SSEM authorities said that preliminary investigations revealed that the detainees could belong to a criminal cell with origins in the state of Jalisco, so the investigation will be expanded.
