In Germany, they are asking for a repeat of the quarter-final match against Spain

Such is the anger that exists in Germany Regarding the quarter-final match in which the German team was eliminated from the European Championship against Spainwho have requested through ‘Change.org’ that the match be replayed because they consider it unfair that no penalty was awarded for Marc Cucurella’s handball. The explanations given by English referee Anthony Taylor were not enough for them.

It is no longer just the protagonists of the match or former footballers who have raised their voices, but with this initiative they are going further and now everyone who wants to join in. They have already collected, so far, 378,000 signatures that have responded to the question ‘Repeat the quarter-finals between Spain and Germany due to wrong decisions’.

In the text with which the initiative argues its request, they write: “In the 106th minute, there was no clear penalty for handball when Cucurella blocked a clear goal-scoring opportunity with his outstretched arm. Referee Anthony Taylor allowed the match to continue and the VAR inexplicably did not intervene. And this was just one of many wrong decisions. In the 77th minute, Niklas Füllkrug was brought down by Nacho after a low cross from Florian Wirtz, which made him fall and clearly prevented him from finishing. These two clearly mentioned wrong decisions were decisive and would have changed the match. That is why I think it should be repeated. If you also have this opinion, sign this petition and pass it on to your peers.“.
