Two years and seven months after his last victory, British driver Lewis Hamilton has won another Formula 1 Grand Prix, and he did so at none other than his home circuit, at Silverstone.

Second place went to Dutch driver Max Verstappen (Red Bull Racing), just over 1 second behind, and the podium was also completed by British driver Lando Norris (McLaren).

It was a race that was marked by the forced retirement of George Russell, Hamilton’s teammate who had problems with his car. A forced start that cut short the remarkable streak of the Englishman Russell, who had just won in Austria, and had been the fastest on Friday and Saturday, starting first on Sunday.

With this victory, Lewis Hamilton has achieved his ninth at Silverstone, the six-time Formula 1 world championship winner having achieved a record for most wins on a single circuit.
