Granada, Jul 8 (EFE).- The forest fire that broke out on Monday in the Albaicín area, in an area close to homes on Camino del Sacromonte, in the capital of Granada, was stabilized early this afternoon.

According to Infoca, the fire was stabilized at 4:20 p.m. and the aerial and ground resources that were being used to extinguish the fire have already been withdrawn from the scene.

Three groups of forest firefighters, an operations technician, an environmental agent and two vehicles (one a fire truck and one a tanker) continue to work to control the area.

The fire started shortly before 2:00 pm on Monday in an area surrounded by houses in Albaicín, a place close to Vereda de Enmedio and Camino del Sacromonte, although the flames have not forced any kind of preventive evacuation.

In the last few hours, the Infoca operation has reinforced its air resources, with the participation of two helicopters and a semi-heavy aircraft, which have already left the site, as well as ground resources.

The operation also included the collaboration of the Granada Fire Department and local police officers, who regulate traffic in the area. EFE
