Writing.- Areleny Sánchez, 19, died at the hands of her partner Sunday morning, July 7 in the sector Herrera’s Coffee from Santo Domingo West, according to his relatives The young woman arrived with bumps and bruisesbut never reported.

With scarcely five months of relationshipAreleny was being abused by her partner.

“She would come to my house with bruises, mainly with a split mouth, and I would ask her, ‘Arleny, how did you do that?’ I came across something, but she never told me it was him,” were the words of the grandmother of the now deceased.

Areleny was killed by a shot to the neck and her attacker then threw her from a second level, simulating suicide.

Relatives of the young woman claim that the perpetrator, only identified as “El Patico,” mistreated her and allegedly threatened her. Meanwhile, the police continue to search for the man who is on the run, and friends and relatives of Areleny are calling for justice and demanding that the case not go unpunished.

Once again, another Dominican family is plunged into pain and sadness due to a femicide. Areleny is survived by a child of one year and seven months.
