Following a chase to a citadel in the Jaramijó canton, in the province of Manabí, six people were arrested who are believed to be members of a micro-trafficking network.

The Joint Task Force was carrying out a patrol to control weapons, ammunition and explosives when they detected the occupants of a high-end vehicle and a taxi acting suspiciously. The vehicles did not stop at the request of the officers, so a chase was initiated.

The occupants of the vehicles tried to enter several homes in the Jaramijó district, but were neutralized and arrested by the military.

$5,000 in cash, a block containing drugs and a bag with a whitish substance were found in the possession of the six people.

The arrested citizens and the evidence were placed at the disposal of the Jaramijó National Police for the corresponding legal procedures. (I)
