Chile calls for strengthening cooperation in Mercosur to combat organized crime

Asuncion, Jul 8 (EFE) (Images: Stiven Meza).- The Undersecretary of Foreign Affairs of Chile, Gloria de la Fuente, urged this Monday the member and associate countries of Mercosur to strengthen integration and cooperation to effectively face “a common problem” such as the the advance of organized crime on the continent. “It is impossible to confront this scourge (of organized crime) if we do not integrate or do not do it jointly,” De la Fuente told EFE after participating in the summit of heads of state of Mercosur, the bloc made up of Argentina, Brazil, Uruguay, Paraguay and Bolivia.
