Mexico City, Jul 8 (EFE).- The Mexican government, through the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (SRE, Chancellery), condemned and reproved on Monday the missile attack carried out by Russia against several targets in Ukraine, including the Ojmatdit children’s hospital in kyiv, in a day that resulted in 37 dead and 170 wounded.

“The Government of Mexico condemns the attack on the Okhmatdyt Children’s Hospital in Kyiv, Ukraine,” the Mexican Foreign Ministry said in a statement.

“Mexico condemns any type of attack against civilian targets and demands strict adherence to the codes of conduct established in international humanitarian law,” he added.

In the note, Mexico expressed “its condolences to the Ukrainian people, while expressing its solidarity with the families affected by this tragedy.”

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has said that 37 people have died, including three children, and 170 have been injured in the attacks on Ukrainian territory on Monday, according to a message posted on his Telegram channel.

The massive Russian missile attack on Monday left at least 37 dead in the Ukrainian capital and in the cities of Dnipro and Krivi Rig, where Zelensky is from.

The attack comes just ahead of this year’s NATO summit in Washington, which will once again focus on how member countries can continue to provide military assistance to Ukraine.

The UN Security Council will meet on Tuesday to discuss the Russian offensive against Ukraine. EFE
