Last Saturday, Parc Vell in the San Isidro neighbourhood hosted the ‘Esports al Barri’ initiative, a project by the FDM to facilitate coordinated action by local sports agents who work in each neighbourhood; to publicise the range of sports activities organised in the city and, in particular, those in the neighbourhood; to enable the integration of the entire population of the neighbourhood through different sports activities; to facilitate the participation of populations with functional diversity in the neighbourhood and to encourage sporting activities as a family.

The sports included in this edition of the programme, thanks to the collaboration of the city’s sports federations and clubs, are: popular and traditional Valencian games, adapted sports, tennis, chess, parkour, hockey, judo, karate, jump rope, rugby, paddle tennis, etc.

The participating sports federations and clubs are: Tennis Federation of the Valencian Community, Valencia Wrestling Club, Handball Federation of the Valencian Community, Jaime I Handball Club of Valencia, Rugby Federation of the Valencian Community, CAU Rugby Valencia, Hockey Federation of the Valencian Community, Waterpolo Turia Sports Club, Ciutat Vella Chess Club, Paddle Tennis Federation of the Valencian Community, Beach Bol Valencia Beach Volleyball Club, ToBukao, Valencia Judo Federation and Associated Disciplines, Karate Federation of the Valencian Community and Zafranar Sports Club. In addition to the support of El Corte Inglés, which organises activities for children, such as face painting and balloon twisting.
