  • The city of Valladolid, which has been a member since 2019, has been present at the meetings scheduled with the group of Creative Cities of Spain and the group of Creative Cities of Cinema.

Valladolid, through the Department of Tourism, Events and City Brand, has been present at the XVI edition of the World Conference of Creative Cities at the Braga Forum (Portugal), which has brought together the 350 cities from around the world belonging to the network. These conferences have been organised with the aim of offering the City Councils of the different cities a series of presentations to update knowledge and exchange experiences with other members of the international group.

As a Creative City of Cinema, Valladolid has been part of the UNESCO network since 2019, and through this initiative, the city has been able to project beyond its borders the quality of its cultural programming, its commitment to the objectives of sustainable development and the work carried out to make Valladolid a greener, more cohesive and more supportive city.

The city of Valladolid is also a member of the Spanish Network of Creative Cities made up of 11 Spanish cities, and it was at this Conference that the national meeting was confirmed, which will take place in Granada on November 11, 12 and 13, and where the National Association and joint initiatives for the year 2025 will be presented.

The creative cities of cinema have also met in Terrassa (Catalonia) next November for their first meeting outside the annual UNESCO conferences. This will be an opportunity to explore the possibilities of cooperation between the 26 cities that make up the UNESCO film cluster.

The UNESCO Creative Cities Network (UCCN) celebrates its 20th anniversary this year and over these two decades, cities committed to culture and creativity have benefited from this networking, finding inspiration for sustainable urban development in all its socio-economic and environmental facets.
