The Ministry of Culture reported that on July 3 it suffered a security incident that caused, in the early hours of the morning, connection failures and then total unavailability in technology services, computer systems and web portals.

This incident caused failures in institutional servers, information systems and websites of entities in the Cultures sector, affecting mainly services to citizens, including the results of the calls for applications. However, it is important to note that the confidentiality of the information was not compromised at any time.

Since the cause of the incident was identified, a team of specialized professionals has been working on restoring the technological services, information systems and web portals of the entity, the National Library and the National Museum.

The high ministry indicated that the technological services and 19 information systems have been resolved, among which are the web portals of the Ministry of Culture, the National Museum and the National Library, the Reading Colombia call website, the Soy Cultura agent registry and the PQRS reception and attention channels to manage the response to citizen requests in a normal and timely manner.

The Information Technology and Systems Management Group of the Ministry of Culture continues to work to gradually reestablish the normal operation of all IT services. It is estimated that on July 15, the call consultation systems will be available to those interested.

The Ministry of Culture, Arts and Knowledge carried out the established procedures to report the incident to the Government Sector Cyber ​​Security Incident Response Team (CSIRT) and the Colombian Cyber ​​Emergency Response Team (COLCERT) and will file the respective complaints with the Attorney General’s Office to investigate this incident and identify those responsible.
