During a session called “Public Prosecutor’s Office goes to your Community,” the senior official announced that at the meeting they would evaluate the conspiratorial events of the Venezuelan extreme right against the national territory and that the irregulars made public in separate statements on July 4 and 6.

Saab declared the day before, from Plaza Bolívar in Baruta, Miranda state, that this is a serious incident, which national and international sectors are trying to trivialize and which deserves to be condemned.

He insisted that these individuals had resorted to Colombian paramilitaries to attack President Nicolás Maduro, damage the electrical infrastructure and create chaos in the border states to give the impression of a civil war, once the election results of July 28 were announced.

The intention, he stressed, is to create “a bloodbath in our country” through terrorism and weapons, and warned that they will not allow it because Venezuela has managed to maintain a climate of peace and coexistence in recent years.

Last Monday, the Attorney General revealed that he had sent a written communication to Camargo, requesting his “valuable collaboration” to investigate these actions and proceed to have the actors prosecuted by the courts.

He said that they now have not only the knowledge, but also the contacts “to begin to act decisively against these criminals.”

I hope that the Colombian Attorney General’s Office will allow Venezuelan officials to travel to the neighboring nation to work on international criminal cooperation, in order to clarify this nefarious act that is unanimously repudiated by all of Venezuela, he said.

There are three weeks left until the elections and they are already announcing acts of violence, he stressed, and denounced the “sick relapse of this sector” of the opposition.

The Public Prosecutor’s Office launched an investigation on Saturday and appointed the 83rd National Prosecutor’s Office to “investigate and punish new assassination threats” against the Bolivarian President.
