Riley’s sad reality revealed in Inside Out 2

The success of Inside Out 2 Not only is it because it arrived in theaters at the perfect time, but Pixar’s work is capable of connecting with its entire audience in different ways. Although the film focuses a lot on the new emotions of Riley, the protagonist, This film also shows us how the maturation of the girl means a distancing from her parents, something that perhaps not many noticed at the beginning.

Much of Riley’s story focuses on how she has to deal with the problems of adolescence and her new emotions without the help of her parents, who played an important role in the first Inside Out film. However, In the sequel this pair is relegated only to the beginning at the end, and it is likely that in a possible third installment its participants will be reduced even further.

Although the protagonist has the support of her friends, Riley is the one who has to overcome her problems alone at the end of the day. This shows us a natural process for anyone. As we grow, our relationships change.and that can mean a distancing from parents, something that Inside Out 2 manages to portray effectively, but without giving it a great weight in the story.

For many, the process of maturation and independence also means isolation. We can see this clearly with Riley’s friends, who at the beginning are presented as a pillar for the protagonist, But as new emotions take over, their relationship fractures.. Although in the end their friendship is preserved, it is clear that the protagonist has begun to distance herself from everyone around her.

Although at the moment we do not know if Inside Out 3 is in production, something Pixar is probably already working on, we will surely see an evolution of these concepts. On related topics, there is already a premiere date for the Inside Out series. Likewise, Inside Out 2 It is a success on Disney+.

Author’s Note:

Although it is not the best animated film of the year, Inside Out 2 It’s still a great film with universal themes that everyone can appreciate. Riley is a character that an entire generation can surely identify with, and that is very positive. Let’s just hope the third installment is just as good.
