X Men, the first film in the saga about Marvel mutants, was released in 2000 and Bryan Singer was behind the cameras. The one chosen to give life to Wolverine was Dougray Scott, but an accident cut short the plans. “Tom Rothman, the head of Fox, said he was going to be Dougray Scott, so we signed him while he was doing Mission Impossible 2 and Tom Cruise He kept calling us saying: ‘We need you a little more” Hayter recalled.
As he added:
When we were going to shoot the movie, we hadn’t seen Wolverine or tried on the suits, so we sent designer Louise Mingenbach to Australia to do it and it turned out that she had been in a motorcycle accident while filming ‘Mission: Impossible 2’ and had lost about 150 pounds. It was not going to work
So, with this scenario, the studio opted for Jackman. What initially seemed like a wrong decision turned out to be a success. Jackman has given life to the character in the original trilogy of mutants, made up of the films X Men (2000), X-Men 2 (2003) and X-Men: The Last Stand (2006). Also in a solo trilogy about his character X-Men Origins: Wolverine (2009), Wolverine immortal (2013) and logan (2017). Lastly, she appeared in the prequel saga with a cameo in X Men First generation (2011), a starring role in X-Men: Days of Future Past (2014) and a brief return in X-Men: Apocalypse (2016).
The actor said goodbye to the character after logan, considered one of the best superhero movies of all time. After seven years, he returns as the mutant in Deadpool and Wolverine.
