“It’s the best action movie I’ve ever made.” Sylvester Stallone reveals which film of his he is especially proud of and why he places it above the rest

The veteran actor surprises by choosing the fourth installment of one of his most popular franchises

Sylvester Stallone He has participated in a multitude of legendary films throughout his long career, and is also a benchmark in the history of action cinema. Then each one will have their favorite work by the actor, who recently revealed in The Hollywood Reporter what he considered to be the best action movie he has ever made.

“I’m very proud of her”

The most curious thing of all is that Stallone has opted for a sequel rather than for any of the other iconic titles of his career. In fact, it was a film that served to recover a character that seemed to have been left behind 20 years and that would later be recovered once again:

A film that I am very proud of – it is the best action film I have ever made because it is the most truthful – is ‘John Rambo’, which is about Burma, where there has been a civil war for 67 years. But they reviled me because the film is very violent. And it is violent. It is awful. Children burned alive. That’s what makes civil war worse than anything: it’s your neighbor suddenly killing you. I was very happy with that film, and I never thought it would make it to the cinema. I thought, “They’re never going to screen this.”

Released in 2008, ‘John Rambo’ arrived just after Stallone relaunched the other great character of his career with ‘Rocky Balboa’. Said sixth installment was very well received, but critics were less enthusiastic in the case of this Vietnam War veteran’s fourth adventure.

The public did show greater interest in ‘John Rambo’, which led to it achieving a gross of 113 million dollars. It’s not that it was a bomb at the box office – remember that it cost 47.5 million – but it was showed that Stallone could still offer a nervous vision of the character. Unfortunately, the same did not happen in the case of ‘Rambo: Last Blood’ and the actor has already ruled out making a sixth installment.
