At the beginning of April we could already see a preview of the trailer for that first Ghost movie which will be released in theaters around the world and has a nod to “The Exorcist”. To find the origin of this project, we must go back to some statements from last October 2023 in which the leader Tobias Forge confirmed that they were recording a film whose title and release dates we already know. “Rite Here, Rite Now” will be the name of the first film project of Ghost which will be released in theaters around the world, but only for two days.

This was what he declared forge to Loudersound Regarding the structure of the film: “Basically, we were shooting a movie. And we used the audience as extras for two nights… It’s going to be a movie with a concert. So much of what you experienced in the two concerts in Los Angeles is going to be part of this project”.

Once it was released the first preview of the trailer in April, the next step will come on May 9, when the full trailer is released. That same day pre-sale will begin on the website dedicated to “Rite Here Rite Now”and fans in most areas of the world will be able to see it in theaters on days June 20 and 22. The site indicates different days for specific territories, so best to check the dates carefully.

This was https://twitter.com/thebandGHOST/status/1785656070868013203: “Children of the world! Finally, our first feature film, “Rite Here, Right Now”, will hit theaters around the world on June 20 and 22. Pre-sales begin on May 9, and if you want to see it in theaters, act fast. Directed by Alex Ross Perry and Tobias Forge, “Rite Here Rite Now” will star Ghostof course, as well as Maralyn Facey, Alan Ursillo, Ashley McBride and Kevin “Jesus” Kaufmann. The film has been produced by Kristen Mulderig, Rick Sales, Craig Butta and the filmmaker Lords of Chaos, Jonas Akerlund.

This is how the film presented forge: “Over a decade ago, when Ghost signed to Loma Vista, Tom Whalley (owner and CEO) asked us what the history of the band was. He thought telling a story was vital to gaining new fans. I responded that since we were a new group and, more importantly, an anonymous group, there was no compelling story to tell. Not yet. But I told him that if he wanted a story, I could make it up. This film is the fruit of that conversation”.

Director Alex Ross Perry added the following: “Collaborating with Tobias to turn the Ghost saga into a feature film has been a delight. This film has allowed us to be inspired by everything, from silent horror to “The Great Rock n’ Roll Swindle” (ed: film starring the Sex Pistols), from Ralph Bakshi to ‘Alive II’ by Kiss. The influences were many, but, above all, the ultimate goal was to make a unique feast not only for Ghost fans, but for all lovers of the cinematic alchemy between rock spectacle and spooky pleasures.”.
