We don’t like having great horror and science fiction sagas like Alien back on the big screen, but we also like to see how other filmmakers seek to carve out a niche for themselves in the genre with totally original bets. This is the case of Louis Leterrierdirector of The Transporters, The Incredible Hulk and Fast X, who is working on a film that audiences will not easily forget.
What will 11817 be about?
It will respond to the name 11817, and will present a story where Unexplained forces trap a family of four inside your home indefinitely. “As modern luxuries and life-or-death essentials begin to run out, the family must learn to be resourceful to survive and outwit who (or what) is keeping them trapped,” they detail.
Louis Leterrier promises a story where the public will be able to identify with its protagonists, “no matter how complex, imperfect and heroic they may be. It’s something that excites me about the totally original concept of 11817 . This is going to be an experience that will not be forgotten,” explains the filmmaker through THR.
The production of 11817 is now looking for its actors as well as distribution partners, although everything seems to be going quite well for the director, who will be able to leave us with a somewhat more intimate proposal of horror and science fiction cinema, although taking into account the Louis Leterrier’s experience in action cinema we have to expect that there will be some more dizzying sequences.
Leterrier is also called to direct Fast & Furious 11, although the project seems to be delayed for a while, so perhaps he can take charge of this 11817 before working on the final end of the Vin Diesel saga.
