An opportunity to see one of Hollywood’s great action heroes on the big screen
If I talk to you about the best Bruce Willis saga, you probably already know that we are talking about Crystal jungle. The actor is one of Hollywood’s definitive action heroes and many films in his filmography prove it, but if we have to talk about a film of the genre, there is no doubt: John McClane wins.
Today you have a unique opportunity to see part of the saga on the big screen. MK2 Ice Palace has scheduled the screening of Die Hard: Revenge for this May 9 at 8 p.m..
The third installment of the saga is one of the worst rated – below it is only a good day to die, McClane’s fifth and final adventure. Critics give it a 59%, but the public reaches 83% and defines it as a solid film, following the tone of the saga, although with much less emotion and heart than its predecessors.
This is what usually happens in sagas of this type. Once a certain number of installments have been reached, critics get off the wagon and fans remain loyal to the characters. It also happens that there is a point of no return and that of Die Hard -as it is known in English- is in its fifth film. A bittersweet goodbye to a great action franchise.

The development of the third film Crystal jungle It wasn’t exactly a bed of roses. Several scripts were written that were rejected. In fact, Willis himself said no to several of them before the final decision arrived.. The chosen one was a script written by Jonathan Hensleigh which, according to Den of Geekwas going to be part of the series The Young Indiana Jones Chronicleslater it was a possible fourth film lethal weapon and ended up being released as a McClane adventure.
If the tape has a different tone it is precisely for this reason. It was restructured as necessary to fit into the McClane universe, changing names and characters if necessary. For example, the character Samuel L. Jackson was originally a woman.
As we say, the final result excited the fans. Was one of the highest grossing films of 1995. She came in tenth place, behind Toy Story, Apollo 13, Batman Forever either Pocahontas. and, although the critics are not entirely in its favor, the unanimous opinion is that it maintains Willis’ charisma and has something that the others did not have: the dynamic between the protagonist and Jackson.
