Sony’s Spider-Verse will expand outside the realm of animation. The actor Nicolas Cage for the first time he will star in a television series to lead a production called “Not to go”, which will lead him to interpret again the Spider-Man Noir previously seen in the movie Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse for streaming Amazon Prime Video.

The project had already been tested during the year 2023, but this is the first time that it is officially revealed that the spider character, which emerged on Earth 90214 of the Marvel multiverse, will have its own production.

For now there are no additional details of the series, but the hero follows the basic scheme in which Peter Parker is bitten by a radioactive spider, only that his world is different and his presence as a hero leads us to meet a Spidey who acts as vigilant in a totally corrupt city, moving like a guy without much hope in a black and white noir setting.

As far as the animated Spider-Verse version is concerned, and which will now extend to live-action, Not to go will present the story of an aging Peter Parker who moves in New York after the Great Depression and who must confront his past while acting as the city’s only hero.

The plan is to launch the series on MGM+ streaming in the United States, followed by a global launch on Prime Video. Likewise, production will be carried out jointly between Sony Pictures Television and Amazon MGM Studioswith Phil Lord and Chris Millerproducers of the animated Spider-Verse, settling in as executive producers of the series alongside Amy Pascal, the former head of Sony who remained involved in everything that concerns Spidey.

While, Oren Uziel (22 Jump Street) and Steve Lightfoot (Marvel’s The Punisher) will be the co-showrunners of the new series, thus being in charge of directing the story, while Harry Bradbeer (Fleabag) will direct the first two episodes.

For now “Noir” does not have a release date.
