“This is Michael” offers a complete review of Michael Jackson’s career, directed by Brazilian Lenny Jay
Today at 9 p.m. “This is Michael” arrives at the Mercedes Sosa theater (San Martín 479), the international show in tribute to Michael Jackson by the Brazilian imitator Lenny Jay.
The show offers a total review of the American artist’s career for two hours, offering the classics of each decade. At the front of the show, Jay closely blends in with the figure and look of the King of Pop.
“It is an international production: the lights are designed as close as possible to what a Michael Jackson show would be. We have videos on the screens, synchronized in time with the music, made especially for the shows. There is a live band with a giant corps of dancers for the legendary songs. I am singing and dancing all the time, with the most emblematic costumes,” Jay revealed in an interview prior to his last show at Luna Park, in Buenos Aires, which sold out for the third time.
“What I like most is that we take a tour of Michael’s entire life from a list of songs that is a mix of all the tours. It is a show for everyone, both for those who experienced the Jackson Five in the seventies and for those who lived through the 80s and 90s. It is an experience of returning to the past,” said the singer who was born in Brazil, but is based in Italy. .
Since its premiere, the show has toured many countries in Europe, South and Central America and Mexico, “but the initial idea emerged in 2020 with Javier Fernandez, the director of the show’s production company; His project was to do something unique, in terms of lighting and production it had to be something big. Today, it is one of the largest tribute shows of its kind in the world,” he highlighted.
Jay says that since he was seven years old, when he first heard the King of Pop, he started singing and dancing to his songs. “My whole life was my passion and I never imagined that one day I would be traveling around the world doing this for Michael,” he concluded.

Rock: agenda with visits and groups from Tucumán

In the south, Atomic will host the “Under Rock Fest Monteros” with performances by Unión Bajo Fuego, Pandemia, La Muerte del Sol and CAP Traidores NO turns nine and will celebrate it with Paranoia Rock and Dramma Camión instead of consulting with the band; while Rancio and La Vieja de Otero will occupy the stage of Caprice Cervecería (Chacabuco 437), with free access.
