A radio history
Ramoncito or Moncho, such his nicknames, rose to prominence at that prestigious station, which he entered with his humility on his back as soon as it opened its doors and over time became a legend.
“He came in when the radio started in the house of the Sanfilippowhom he knew before, and followed when he moved to the new headquarters in Spain, he was a friend of the owner’s family, they loved him very much,” he explained Pablo Arrigonia colleague who shared unforgettable years and moments with him in the central studio.
He served there for almost three decades and “He was very loved by everyone, we are extremely dismayed”told LM Cipolletti the young operator who replaced him a few months ago.
Fana of River and Cipo
Ramón was the operator of several programs, such as that of Miguel Sanfilippo and that of the aforementioned Arrigoni and they valued him as a professional and a person. A fan of Cipo and River, “she carried Miguel, who is a bostero, when he won the Millo, he would put on the musical curtain for his team the next day,” Arrigoni recalled with a smile.
“He accompanied me on La Primera Mañana from 7 to 9 and then with Miguel until 1 p.m. A lot of time spent on the Cipo court ”, he expanded with a hint of nostalgia.
“Good people in every way. A great guy, every morning he picked me up at home, he started early. On summer mornings he liked to be outside for a while, watching people go by, then he would go to work and never stop, passionate about the radio. Gauchito, friend, if you needed a favor I would do it right away,” the same colleague highlighted his human quality.
The messages from listeners multiplied on this sad day. Ramón had two children, Andrés and Micaela, who were his great pride. He lived in the 1200s with his mother although he had a good relationship with his ex-wife Mabel. Strength to his family and all the people of his beloved FM Galas! See you always Ramón!
The radio statement
“On this day of deep regret, we sadly say goodbye to Ramón Leiva, our esteemed operator of Radio Galas 89.7. His tireless dedication has left an indelible mark on our station and in our hearts. We will remember his kindness, his professionalism and his joy contagious. Rest in peace, dear Ramón, your legacy will live forever in our memory and in every melody that plays in the air. His remains will be laid to rest at Grupo Diniello from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at Ibáñez 1055. Cipolletti”, was the station’s official statement regarding the irreparable loss of one of its most popular and esteemed members.
