The guitarist of DREAM THEATER John Petrucci has published a video reporting the conclusion of the recording of his guitars for the group’s new album.

«I’m here to tell you that I have officially finished recording the guitars for what we will call for now DT16, the latest album by DREAM THEATER.

I am very happy with how the guitars turned out. Our extraordinary and talented engineer Jimmy T. and I have managed to create what we call the Mount Rushmore of guitar tones. I think we have done it, now it is up to you to decide.

In the fight to try to finish the album and with the return to the group of Mike Portnoy, we decided to look back a little. That’s why we contacted our old friend and engineer again. Doug Oberkircherwith whom we recorded classic albums DREAM THEATER such as “Images And Words”, “Scenes From A Memory”, “Six Degrees Of Inner Turbulence” or “Train Of Thought”. The fact is that he still had the original Neve preamps that we used to record the guitars on those albums, so we took the opportunity to use them. We’ve got all the vibe and all the aggression, but it still sounds warm, expressive, layered. It’s like a Tyrannosaurus Rez made into a flaming chocolate cake.

In any case, it has been very good and I really want you to listen to it.»

The performance was recorded on June 13, 2019 at the Los Angeles El Rey theater.

The album has been recorded with Shooter Jennings and his band composed of Ted Kemp, Jamie Douglas, Aubrey Richmond and John Scheffler.

The material was mixed at Sunset Sound studios by Shooter Jennings.

The last work of TERRORIZER “Caustic Attack” was released on October 12, 2018 via e End Records.
